Junior Varsity Football
Junior Varsity is open to all children in 3rd and 4th Grade. This is a full contact sport. Your child will
learn tackling, catching, defense and offense lineups. Children and parents need to be aware your child will be "conditioned"
this is a series of stretching exercises and drills. All children are required to participate in "conditioning" to prevent
serious injuries. Running is also a requirement. JV plays 4 6 minute game quarters. All football players are required
to have a sports physical form to be completed by a doctor in order to participate. THIS IS COUNTY regulations!
Wythe County does provide the basic equipment to play ie: Helmets, jerseys, shoulder pads, pants and Pants pads.
Any additional padding or equipment you or your child wishes to provide will be at your discretion. Mouth guards and
chin straps are required and provided. Each team has the potential for Playoffs as well as the best 2 teams of Wythe County
earns a trip to the Superbowl (last Saturday of October). Each child receives a trophy at the end of the season.
Varsity Football
